Benalmadena 14 and 15 June

Hello everyone,
Our break in Spain is doing us wonders but it will soon be at an end. The weather is perfect, bright sunshine and about 30 degrees every day. We normally go to the beach in the morning then have a break in the heat of the day then go back later in the afternoon. It is a lovely beach which stretches for miles, and of course being on the Mediterranean the water is as flat as a tack. Yesterday we did a day bus trip to Granada, probably about 150 km from here, primarily to see the Alhambra Palace which was built by the Moorish kings when they ruled Spain in the 12th century. It was very interesting and a complete contrast to the palaces we had seen in other European cities. It is the most visited site in the whole of Spain. We then went into the centre of Granada for a look around but it was about 38 degrees so we just found a nice cafe with airconditioning and sat there for a while. That night we went to the restaurant at the resort as they had flamenco dancers doing a show, they were very good and we had delicious paella, as you do in Spain. Today is a quiet day, again very hot in the sun but nice in the shade. Tomorrow we head off to Gibraltar for a day trip. Soon our stay here will be over, we fly to Ireland on Saturday where we suspect the weather will be a bit different. Love Sabine and Sam
