Madrid to Malaga 11 June

Hello everyone,
We had a fairly leisurely start to the day, our train did not leave Madrid until 11.35. In the station we saw a TV crew from CNN and the reporter was Richard Quest,he was about 5 metres from us. You may not know his name but we had CNN at most places on our holiday and Richard Quest seemed to be on air a lot asking hard questions of politicians. Sabine was very excited to see him.
We arrived in Malaga on time then caught a local train down to the beach resort we are staying at, it was about a 30 minute train trip then 5 minutes in a taxi and we were at our destination in a place called Benalmadena, our resort is about 100 metres from the beach, which looks nice and is pretty busy. There are a million restaurants along the beach so we picked one at random and it turned out the owner was Dutch and he had been in Sydney for the 2000 Olympics where his daughter won silver in the swimming, and she also won gold at the Beijing Olympics. He had a good chat to us, he spent 6 weeks in Queensland after the Olympics.
We are both pretty tired now but we have pledged that each morning we will get up and do a long brisk walk before it gets too hot, and then head to the beach. The forecast for all next week is around 30 degrees and sunny.
Sabine and Sam
